Story:

It was early in the morning when we set out on the hunt. Since we were in the middle of Douglas, we had to drive a good distance to get to the ranch where we were going to be hunting . After making a few stops, we finally headed on and got to the ranch about a quarter 'til eight. We crossed through this little gate and started driving through the field, checking left and right to see where the antelope were grazing. We came upon a big herd and singled out the largest buck.

Paul & Terry quietly rolled down the window, put the barrel of my rifle out and helped me set up for the shot. They guessed him to be around 285 yards... which helped me determine where I wanted to aim. Just as I started to shoot, the antelope took off walking to a left and showed me his backside.

I started getting anxious now, wondering if he was going to trot away, but then all of a sudden he turned broadside... we took aim and I shot... after my shot the antelope just stood still for 3-4 seconds and I didn't know if I'd missed him or not... then he finally took a couple steps and down he went.
